It was in 1965, that our visionary chairman, Madhusudan O.Rane established Chhabi Electricals, at Mumbai, Maharashtra . Aim was to operate in the field of capital industrial and electrical equipments.

The initial production program included Phase preventors, L T distribution transformers, plating rectifiers, battery chargers, and Automatic voltage stabilizers. In next two decades, Chhabi proactively witnessed and participated in India's leap growth in the power and telecom sector via a good demand for its Rectifiers (battery chargers).

Responding quickly to the latest innovations in the field, Chhabi pioneered the design, development and manufacture of Thyristor control Battery Chargers up to the range of 500KW.Both the public and private infrastructure companies welcomed this development with a quantum of orders. The organizations included Power Generating Stations, National Thermal Power Corporation , State Electricity (utilities), and industries like Larsen & Toubro, TATA , Reliance Industries Limited, all Petrochemical Corporations, Steel Plants, Cement Industries, etc. Chhabi also executed skilled customized orders of leading consultants like TCE, EIL, DCL, PDLL, PGCIL, UDHE, H&G, KAVERNER POWERGAS, DESEIN, etc. The year 1980 saw our production facilities getting shifted to Jalgaon-a developed industrious township 425 Kms.from Mumbai.

Here we had an area of 3800 sq.mtrs. approx.-for the actual production and allied activities, along with an ample uncovered area for future expansions. Manufacturing and Supply of- 220V/875Amps- A highest rating Battery Charger to Vishakhapatanam Steel Plant through Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd , in 1985 came as a real breakthrough. In the year 1987, the production of SMPS battery chargers was initiated.

CEPL crossed the Indian boundaries in 1998 with an Export order to Kyrgyzstan , through ABB.

In 1999, Chhabi got the prestigious ISO: 9001 certification, which continues with the passage of time with timely renewals.

The commercial year 2004-2005 marked the beginning of our direct exports to Indonesia , Bhutan , Mozambique , South America and Nigeria . Since then Chhabi has been on the forefront in the DC power systems. We are serving almost every section of the Indian infrastructure-May it be Refineries, , and Power generation, Steel. Cement or Petrochemicals. Our latest strategic alliance with the world leaders Emerson has offered newer mutual opportunities. The infrastructure companies in India and abroad have responded very positively to this development.
