'Reiki' is derived from a Japanese word and it means "Universal Life Force energy". It promotes relaxation and well being. It is a natural and safe method, administered through gentle touch, on or close to different parts of the body. Reiki does not treat symptoms; instead it aids the body's self-healing, treating the cause of any imbalance and naturally returning you to a balanced state. Due to its holistic nature the range of issues that can be addressed is vast. Our healing can be physical, emotional or spiritual; chronic or acute. Life : its Importance & functioning We believe that the physical body and its functioning is the essence of life. But it is not true. This is because there are other bodies that have an impact on the physical body. It has been mentioned in our scriptures that there are 7 bodies of a living being. They are Physical body, Etheric body / Aura body, Astral body, Causal body, mental body, Spiritual body, cosmic body. When all the bodies mentioned above combine together, they work for our survival. Diseases indicate the disturbed state of our Mental and Etheric bodies. But due to ignorance, we take shelter of medicines. The real way of permanent cure is to obtain freedom from those thoughts which affect Mental and Etheric bodies. Through Reiki our Etheric Body develops and it starts supplying energy to the energy centers in a better way. The five elements in the body are balanced and in turn the Physical body gets healthy. Regular practice of Reiki not only helps in maintaining our own physical health, it also helps us to make others lead a happy and healthy life. How Reiki Works The human body has visible physical body and an invisible auric body. The aura is the energy field diffusely distributed around the visible physical body. The aura is distributed in seven layers and the outermost layer is the outer limit of the body. The inner most layers called inner aura having the same shape as the physical body. In this invisible inner aura, seven major chakras are located. These are Root Chakra, Hara Root Chakra, Solar Plexus Chakra, Heart Chakra, Throat Chakra, Third Eye Chakra, Crown ChakraThese Chakras are the energy centers. Major chakras act as link between the universe and the body. Chakras located in the inner aura and are capable of breathing. When chakras spin, cosmic energy created by the supreme power is drawn in to the chakras (inhaling) and reaches the physical body. Thus the physical body becomes cosmic conscious. Each Major chakra is associated an endocrine gland. Endocrine glands, within the physical body, synthesize hormones. Balancing of chakras with uninterrupted cosmic energy flow brings about endocrine balances (hormonal balance). When the mind is in balance, cosmic energy s flow through the aura and chakra is uninterrupted and smooth. Diagnosis Scanning the aura, chakras is done with palm chakra of the healer. Block for the flow of cosmic energy through aura or chakra is identified. Talking with the patient on his symptoms as experienced by the patient, duration of the disease, how and when it started about his background and life style, eating habits, mental make up are taken in to account for proper diagnosis.
