UV Systems
Using Ultraviolet (UV) light for drinking water disinfection dates back to 1910. It is a reliable means of disinfection which involves exposing contaminated water to radiation from UV light. The treatment works because UV light penetrates an organism s cell walls and disrupts the cell s genetic material, making reproduction impossible. A special lamp generates the radiation that creates UV light by striking an electric arc through low-pressure mercury vapor. this lamp emits a broad spectrum of radiation with intense peaks at UV wavelengths of 253.7 nanometers (nm) which research has shown is the optimum UV wavelength range to destroy bacteria. UV disinfection can remove the threat to health from water borne pathogens without the creation of disinfection by products that can be generated from drinking water chlorination. From the common bacteria, e-coli through the cryptosporidium oocysts to adenovirus, uv disinfection is capable of providing effective treatment to ensure inactivation of these pathogens and ensure drinking water is safe. UV Disinfection System are manufactured from stainless steel 304/316/316 L. The Radiation chamber is mirror polished from the inside and outside thus reflecting max and amount of radiation. Both the ends are flanged for easy operation, maintenance and servicing. Specially designed reflectors give additional U.V. reflection to get maximum efficiency. Units are designed to get maximum retention time and turbulence of water for better results. The U.V. Lamps are housed in quartz sleeve and assembled in Stainless Steel Shells. Each quartz jacket is provided with a specially designed wiper assembly for removing any particles that get settled on the Quartz tube. The wiper assembly is specially designed for easy operation without stopping the operation of the unit. The system is completely sealed to avoid any harmful effects from U.V. radiation. All witted rubber parts are made of Food Grade Silicon Rubber to avoid bad odor detraction due to U.V. radiation. The Power Panel of the system is specially designed to withstand voltage fluctuation up to 5 %+. All the U.V. Cables are protected with spiral shield. TECHNOLOGY Silver Ions Ag2+ and copper ions are produced from alloy Electrode of Silver and copper by passing a calculated amount of current. This is produced according to the setup in the control panel, which in turn is as per actual flow. Concentrated solution of Silver and copper ions in water is produced in the water chamber and is made to mix with the flow of water in the pumping main and then in turn we get the required concentration. Silver and copper ions produced in our system are positively charged and microorganisms are negatively charged. There is an attraction among the dual ions and the microorganisms. The silver ions disable the enzymes that microorganisms depend on to breathe and thus kills them. Dual ions are effective because of its capabilities of interfering with DNA production and accelerating the death phase of bacteria and viruses. Because of the charge in the ions, they repel each other and are always in suspension. As their size is small, they have a large surface area of dual ions per unit volume of metal. This small size with its large surface area to volume ratio enables the surface chemistry of silver. Silver ion release is in the region of 0.01 0.03ppm and copper ion release has a maximum of 0.1ppm. Typical retention time for Copper Silver ionization react is 10 minutes. Technology is so worked out that when the chlorides increase more than a certain ppm, automatically mild chlorine is also generated via reaction with Titanium based electrode. Silver, Copper & Chlorine have synergistic effect to disinfect very quickly. Chlorine generated under the system would be 0.1 0.3ppm with only traces available and hence not harmful.
