CAL WASH botanical based bio antifeedant which is highly effective, economical, eco-friendly to the crop as well as to the environment. Cal wash a natural product to prevent and cure diseases like BROWN PLANT HOPPER (BPH) in paddy. Mode of Action: Insects do not feed on the crop due to its antifeedant properties and they leave plants quickly. Symptoms: Crescent shaped white eggs inserted into the midrib or leaf sheath. White to brown nymphs and brown or white adults feeding near the base of tillers Presence of honeydew and sooty molds in the base of areas infected. Damage to Plants: Hopper burn Ovipositional marks exposing the plant to fungal and bacterial infections. Ragged stunt or greasy stunt virus disease plant be observed. Conditions favoring insect / pest development Rain fed and irrigated wetland environments Continuous submerged conditions in the field Reproductive phase of the rice plant. High shady and humidity Closed Canopy of the rice plants. Densely seeded Excessive use of nitrogen early season insecticide spraying be observed. Mechanism of Damage: The Nymphs and adults of the brown plant hopper insert their sucking mouthparts into the plant issue to remove plant sap from phloem cells. During feeding, BPH secrets feeding sheaths into the plant tissue to form feeding tube or feeding sheaths. The removal of plant sap and the blockage of vessels by the feeding tube shealths cause the tillers to dry and turn brown or a condition called hopper burn. Disease: Brown Plant Hopper (nilaparvata lugens) Recommended dosage: Dilute 2.5 ml of cal wash in one liter of water. In paddy use this Solution and spray.
