The department of Pharmacy was set up in 2010, as part of the down town group of institutions, with the Bachelor in Pharmacy Program, after getting due permission from the All India Council for Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E). The department is also approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and also offers a D.Pharm program.Students of the Department of Pharmacy are taken care of by a blend of qualified and experienced teachers. All the faculties are young, energetic and eager to do excellence in the field of Education and Research and this tireless venture in turn directly encourages the students. Infrastructures that are provided to the Department are valued by all the staff and are utilized prudentially for maximum benefits of the students. All the laboratories are equipped with relevant instruments and apparatuses. Besides subject related laboratories, one separate centrally air-conditioned Instrument Laboratory for carrying out analytical and research work is provided to the Department. Language Lab for the students equipped with 30 PC along with the access to the Internet is in use. Well maintained herbal garden comprising of more than 50 plants of medicinal values is indeed an asset to the Department. Besides the Central Library of the University, one Departmental Library within the Department allows easy and immediate access of reference books for the students. Separate hostel accommodations for boys and girls are provided where congenial and disciplined atmosphere are maintained by continuous supervision. Despite the fact of recent scarcity in employments in various sectors, Pharmacy Graduates and Diploma holders are choosing their appropriate jobs out of many job opportunities offered to them by number of established employers. The first batch is due to graduate in 2014 and the training and placement activities have already started.
