What is Osteoarthritis? Osteoarthritis or OA is a condition in which there is damage to the surface of the joint and an abnormal reaction in the underlying bone. Many different joints can be affected but the knee is the most commonly affected joint. The knee joint The knee is one of the most complex joints of the body. It is one of the main load bearing structures that support us. The surrounding bone reacts to this change by forming more bone and forms spur at the end of the bones. There is also a reaction from the lining of the joint and more fluid is formed and often this causes swelling off the joint.
