The Ashok Somany Group was founded in 1984 by Ashok Somany when he started mining operations for Kund Multicolor Slate. This was the first and only slate mines operated in Haryana State in the private sector and is the only mines in operation for multicolor slate in Haryana.
Somany Impex is a part of the Ashok Somany group with Aakash Somany as the sole proprietor. Aakash Somany set up Somany Impex in 2005 with a state of the art processing unit at Kund to support the mining operations of Ashok Somany as well as process and export other Indian Natural stones. Over a period of time, Somany Impex has taken over all the manufacturing units owned by Somany Group entities located at and around various stone quarries all over India under one entity.
