| Apigat 2.5 Tablet contains apixaban, a novel oral anticoagulant that selectively inhibits factor Xa, preventing blood clot formation. It is indicated for stroke and systemic embolism prevention in non-valvular atrial fibrillation and venous thromboembolism prophylaxis post-orthopedic surgery. The drug is taken orally with or without food once daily, with minimal monitoring requirements compared to traditional anticoagulants. Side effects include bleeding, anemia, bruising, nausea, and nosebleeds. Patients should avoid abrupt discontinuation to minimize thrombotic risk.
