Purozite - Ammonia Removal Media - High Performance Zeolite for Water Treatment

Purozite is a premium-grade Clinoptilolite Zeolite Ammonia Removal Media specially engineered for effective removal of ammonium (NH₄⁺) from drinking water, groundwater, wastewater, aquaculture systems, and industrial effluents.

Unlike conventional sand filtration media, Purozite works through a combination of ion exchange, adsorption, and deep-bed filtration, ensuring superior ammonia removal efficiency and longer operational cycles.

How Purozite Removes Ammonia

Purozite is a naturally occurring aluminosilicate mineral with a unique 3D cage-like structure. It has a high Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC up to 190 meq/100 g) which allows it to selectively exchange sodium, potassium, and calcium ions with ammonium ions present in water.

This makes it highly effective for:

Removal of ammonium (NH₄⁺)

Reduction of nitrogen compounds

Control of odor and toxicity

Protection of downstream RO membranes

Ammonia Removal Capacity

Theoretical capacity: Up to 34 g NH₄⁺ per kg

Practical working capacity: 10–15 g NH₄⁺ per kg (design basis)

Regenerable using 2–10% NaCl brine

70–90% capacity recovery per regeneration cycle

With proper operation and regeneration, media life can extend to 3–5 years or more, depending on feed water quality.
