This is the most widely consumed Pulse crop, also gets cultivated in many regions of the country and is harvested in January - Februrary. Most of the Arhar, also known as Tur, at Morarka is cultivated in its Maharashtra project areas. It is a bean, and after de shelling it is converted to Dal. Progressively increasing every year, about 300 MT is now currently handled.
