DESCRIPTION:

Artemether & Lumefantrine tablets is a fixed-dose combination tablet of artemether and lumefantrine. Artemether is a methyl ether derivative of dihydroartemisinin, derived from artemisinin. Lumefantrine is a racemic 2, 4, 7, 9-substituted fluorine derivative that conforms structurally, physicochemically and in mode of action to the arylamino alcohol group of antimalarials that includes quinine and mefloquine.

COMPOSITION:

Each uncoated tablet contains:-

Artemether 20 mg

Lumefantrine 120 mg

Excipients q.s 

INDICATIONS:

Artemether & Lumefantrine tablets are indicated for treatment of acute, uncomplicated malaria infections due to Plasmodium falciparum in patients of 5 kg bodyweight and above. Artemether & Lumefantrine tablets have been shown to be effective in geographical regions where resistance to chloroquine has been reported.

Limitations of Use:

Artemether & Lumefantrine tablets are not approved for patients with severe or complicated P. falciparum malaria.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Artemether & Lumefantrine tablets are contraindicated in persons with a history of hypersensitivity associated with the use of artemether, lumefantrine, or to any of the excipients of Artemether & Lumefantrine tablets.

STORAGE:Store in an airtight container, protected from light.

PRESENTATION: 4X6 Tablets in one blister in a monopack.
