Uses:

Azithromycin is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It is a macrolide-type antibacterial. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Medication will not work for viral infections. Unnecessary use or misuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness.

Common side effects :

It include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and upset stomach. An allergic reaction or a type of diarrhea caused by Clostridium difficile is possible. No harm has been found with its use during pregnancy.
