structure containing a dark reddish brown viscous liquid. It is called cashew nut shell liquid, which is the pericap fluid of the cashew nut.Cashew nut shell liquid is the pericarp fluid of the cashew nut. Natural CNSL is a mixture of phenolic compounds with aliphatic side chains, and these are 70% anacardic acid, 5% cardanol, and 18% cardol.The moisture content, specific gravity and viscosity of the Crude CNSL extracted by screw press method were 0.75%, 0.98 and 57.43 cP, respectively.
