How Coldspell Dryers Work:

• The warm compressed air entering a Coldspell dryer is pre-cooled in the air–air heat exchanger by the stream of cold air flowing out. The pre-cooled air passes through an air–refrigerant heat exchanger. Here it is further cooled, down to +3°C to +7°C. At this temperature, most of the water in the air condenses, forming liquid droplets. This condensate is removed from the air stream by a very efficient demister and automatically discharged from the dryer by a Trident automatic drain valve. The cold, dry compressed air passes through the secondary side of the air–air heat exchanger, where it is reheated by the incoming warm air. This reheating prevents ‘sweating' on the downstream pipe.

• Because of the pre-cooling of the compressed air, it is possible to use a smaller refrigeration unit with reduced space requirements.
• The versatile control panel displays the dryer on/off status, drain open/closed status, refrigeration compressor status and drain valve status as well as the number of hours run, the air inlet temperature and the dew point temperature.
• Hot gas bypass control prevents freezing in the evaporator. The dew point is constant even with changing loads.

• The pre-cooling also reduces the energy requirement of the dryer. Coldspell dryers are more economical than units without pre-cooling heat exchangers.
• Anti-recycling ensures that the gas pressure is equalized and the starting current of the machine is reduced.
• Operating costs are low because of the low pressure drop of the machine.

Consistent life-long Performance:

• Trident heat exchangers have no extended surfaces or sharp corners that collect dust, dirt or oil residues. The smooth, self-cleaning surfaces of their tubes ensure that the heat-transfer efficiency is maintained throughout the dryer's life. Any contaminant is washed out with the condensed moisture at the demister.

Safety:

• The refrigeration dryers are rated for 16 bar ( g) operation for extra safety for you and your equipment.

Ergonomics:

• Because of the pre-cooling, it is possible to use a smaller refrigeration unit. Thus the space requirement of the dryer is less. Installation is made easy by the access to all connections from one side controlling the key component operation from the front panel.
