Dead Burnt Magnesite (DBM) is a high-purity, heat-treated form of magnesite (MgCO₃). It is produced by heating natural magnesite ore in a rotary kiln at temperatures above 1,500°C (2,732°F) to remove carbon dioxide. The resulting product is mainly composed of magnesium oxide (MgO), which is known for its exceptional refractoriness, chemical stability, and resistance to high temperatures.
