Nicotine Polacrilex is a nicotine ion-exchange resin complex in which nicotine is bound to a weak acid cation-exchange resin. This formulation is designed for controlled release of nicotine in the oral cavity during use in nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) products.

The complex allows nicotine to be gradually released and absorbed through the oral mucosa, providing a safer and controlled alternative to smoking. It is the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) in products like nicotine gum and lozenges
