Bran is the hard, outer layer of grain with high nutritional value. Bran is often used to enrich breads (notably muffins) and breakfast cereals. Bran is also widely used as a major ingredient in feeds for cows, buffaloes, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other farm animals.
